| Preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation is offered from August until April. The Confirmation date varies according to the Archbishop’s availability as well as the celebration of the Easter Vigil.
At confirmation we receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit and confirm our baptismal promises. Greater awareness of the grace of the Holy Spirit is conferred through the anointing of chrism oil and the laying on of hands by the Bishop. "Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds. (CCC 1316)" Through the Sacrament of Confirmation we renew our baptismal promises and commit to living a life of maturity in the Christian faith. As we read in the Lumen Gentium (the Dogmatic Constitution of the Church) from the Second Vatican Council: "Bound more intimately to the Church by the sacrament of confirmation, [the baptized] are endowed by the Holy Spirit with special strength; hence they are more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith both by word and by deed as true witnesses of Christ. La preparación para el sacramento de la Confirmación se ofrece desde agosto hasta abril. La fecha de Confirmación varía según la disponibilidad del Arzobispo así como la celebración de la Vigilia Pascual.
En la confirmación recibimos los dones del Espíritu Santo y confirmamos nuestras promesas bautismales. Se confiere una mayor conciencia de la gracia del Espíritu Santo mediante la unción del aceite crismal y la imposición de manos por parte del Obispo. "La Confirmación perfecciona la gracia bautismal; es el sacramento que da el Espíritu Santo para arraigarnos más profundamente en la filiación divina, incorporarnos más firmemente a Cristo, fortalecer nuestro vínculo con la Iglesia, asociarnos más estrechamente a su misión y ayudarnos a dar testimonio de la fe cristiana con palabras acompañadas de obras. (CIC 1316)" A través del Sacramento de la Confirmación renovamos nuestras promesas bautismales y nos comprometemos a vivir una vida de madurez en la fe cristiana. Como leemos en la Lumen Gentium (la Constitución Dogmática de la Iglesia) del Concilio Vaticano II:"Unidos más íntimamente a la Iglesia por el sacramento de la confirmación, [los bautizados] son dotados por el Espíritu Santo de una fuerza especial; por eso están más estrictamente obligados a difundir y defender la fe, tanto con la palabra como con las obras, como verdaderos testigos de Cristo.
